GHfind Transitioning Back to Krobofind

The plan is to redirect ghfind.net to krobofind.com in the near future, once I figure out a way of doing so without having to purchase a new hosting plan for the former.  Whether or not that redirection comes to pass, in any event GHfind is now transitioning back to Krobofind.  Krobofind is actually the predecessor of GHfind, but a few years back, a certain homey convinced me that this project should focus on the entire country (i.e. Ghana) instead of just Kroboland.

The goal of GHfind was to compile a comprehensive online database of virtually all Ghanaian businesses – a difficult goal, though not an impossible one.  However, after working on it for a couple of years, I came to two conclusions.  First is that, the advice the aforementioned homey gave me was probably fueled by tribalism.  Second and most importantly, I currently don’t have the logistically backing to cover the entire country.

As for Kroboland, in the years I’ve been living in Ghana, I’ve spent more time here than anywhere else.  The idea to compile and publish a business database for the area came to me a few years back.  It’s sort of a long story that I don’t feel like getting into at the moment.  But in summation, after staying here for some time, I perceived a need to assemble sort of a business phonebook for the area.

Kroboland, a section of Ghana’s Eastern Region, is a lot bigger than I initially realized.  But still, it’s more realistic to finish a business database of this part of the country expeditiously as opposed to trying to tackle the entirety of Ghana.  I believe a business directory for Kroboland can be comprehensively completed in three years max and one year minimum, if resources and circumstances allow.

CONCLUSION

Honestly, another reason I gave up on Krobofind the first time around is because the response was less than ideal.  But with the interim years of experience I had working on GHfind, I’m confident that now the site will attract more viewers and patrons.  Also currently, I believe I may have more time to actually work on it.
