At the heart of GHfind is an online directory of Ghanaian businesses.  The goal is for its associated database to cover or touch base with every part of Ghana.

Compiling that database requires a ridiculous amount of fieldwork and other commitments.  So it’s taking some time, i.e. an indefinite number of years, to complete.  Relatedly, I recently decided to move access to the business directory off of GHfind’s homepage and onto its own separate page.

From now into the foreseeable future, the homepage will rather feature news aggregation.  The idea is to give visitors a reason to come to the site daily, even at times when the database or classifieds are not being updated.  Yes, news aggregation is a less strenuous task than venturing throughout Ghana, collecting business information.  But it is a(nother) job in and of itself, yet one I feel I can visibly contribute to daily.

The featured headlines will deal primarily with Ghana.  I’ll also feature some international news (mainly from the US), in addition to some conspiracy theory stuff, because why not.

Embedded in between the headlines will be advertisements, not from third-party sources but directly from GHfind.  Lastly, I believe in giving credit where credit is due, and this news aggregation idea was inspired in large part by the Drudge Report.

CONCLUSION

GHfind remains a site primarily dedicated to grassroots’ internet marketing in Ghana.  But hopefully, transitioning a bit to news aggregation will attract more regular visitors.
