GHfind Transitioning Back to Krobofind

The plan is to redirect ghfind.net to krobofind.com in the near future, once I figure out a way of doing so without having to purchase a new hosting plan for the former.  Whether or not that redirection comes to pass, in any event GHfind is now transitioning back to Krobofind.  Krobofind is actually the predecessor of GHfind, but a few years back, a certain homey convinced me that this project…

Homepage Transitioning to News Aggregation

At the heart of GHfind is an online directory of Ghanaian businesses.  The goal is for its associated database to cover or touch base with every part of Ghana. Compiling that database requires a ridiculous amount of fieldwork and other commitments.  So it's taking some time, i.e. an indefinite number of years, to complete.  Relatedly, I recently decided to move access to the business directory off of GHfind's homepage and…

GHfind Classifieds (Functioning Work in Progress)

I was recently hired to design a website for the JoeTex Group, a primarily mango-farming outfit based in Somanya. The proprietor, Joe Tetteh, is a large-scale landowner who engages in different types of businesses, including real estate and car sales. The Facebook Blues

Facebook is more than just a social media platform; it's a social phenomenon.  Other popular social media sites - such as Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, etc. - are such that they tend to be utilized, by us users, to appeal to a larger, general audience.  But Facebook is intended in such a way that the people who view our content are primarily those whom we have an actual, interpersonal relationship with,…

Calling Ghanaian Phone Numbers from Other Countries

Most of the telephone hyperlinks in GHfind’s database are not formatted for international calls.  In other words, these  links are not prefixed with the necessary country code (00233 or +233) to instantly call Ghana from an outside country. When I first started this project, I included the country code on all telephone links.  But doing so was making the database more cumbersome.  Also, once the link is pressed, the way…
